During the “Pertamina Goes to Campus” event held at ITB, PT Pertamina’s CEO pledged a donation of IDR60 billion (approximately $4.2 million) to the ITB Rector. This funding will support the construction of the Molecular Engineering and Functional Materials Building (06/05/24). This initiative is a real manifestation of effective collaboration between academia and the industry in supporting the development of educational science in Indonesia.
The collaboration is designed to advance educational and research opportunities in Indonesia and to tackle global challenges related to sustainable energy, food security, healthcare, and climate change. By adopting both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches, the collaboration beetween PT Pertamina and ITB is poised to make significant societal contributions and propel national progress
The construction of the Molecular Engineering and Functional Materials Building aims to accommodate research, education, and development in molecular and material sciences, involving a broad range of academic disciplines. Additionally, the building will be equipped with an Innovation Lab to support and integrate creative ideas, skills, engineering, and knowledge from ITB’s academic community in producing innovative products and services. This enhancement is part of ITB’s manifestation of becoming a World Class University.
Moreover, this partnership is expected to strengthen ITB’s commitment to developing top-tier Indonesian human resources., because the most important thing in advancing a country is improving the quality of human resources supported by adequate and high-standard infrastructure and facilities.
