BPUDL hosts endowment fund management webinar with Boston Consulting Group

To continuously improve and enhance the management of endowment funds, BPUDL ITB partnered with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for a webinar endowment fund management strategies. During this session, Daniel Selikowitz, Head of Public Sector Corporate Finance for Southeast Asia at BCG, shared insights on managing endowment funds at top universities worldwide and the best practices that could be adopted in Indonesia.

Based on BCG analysis, the majority of universities in Indonesia rely heavily on tuition fees as a primary source of income. In contrast, universities in countries like the USA, UK, Japan, and Singapore receive less than 20% of their revenue from tuition fees, thanks to other sources such as grants, asset management, and donations. Daniel emphasized the need for developing an optimal management model, including the use of funds, identifying potential cooperation partners, investment allocation strategies, resource allocation for management, and the implementation of supporting policies.

The webinar was also attended by Edwin Utama, a member of the BPUDL advisory board, Arief, as BCG consultant in Indonesia, and several endowment managers from various Indonesian universities. This meeting aims to motivate and inspire the managers of these Universities to continue innovating and maximizing the performance of their university endowment management.
