Inauguration of the “Lantai 2 Adaro” at CRCS ITB Building as an appreciation for the endowment fund donation

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) expressed its appreciation to PT Adaro Energy Indonesia by officially naming the 2nd floor of the Center for Research and Community Services (CRCS) Building at ITB Ganesha Campus as “Lantai 2 Adaro”(02/09/2024). This naming serves as a token of gratitude for the endowment fund donation of IDR6 billion made by PT Adaro Energy Indonesia and Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation. 

The ceremony was attended by ITB Rector, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., Director of BPUDL Deddy Priatmodjo Koesrindartoto, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Prof. Ir. I Gede Wenten, Ph.D., Director of Infrastructure of ITB, Prof. Dr. Herto Dwi Ariesyady, and Mohammad Effendi, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation and Independent Commissioner of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia, along with his team.

In his remarks, the Director of BPUDL said “ITB and PT Adaro share the same vision to build this country. We greatly appreciate the contribution of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia. Hopefully, this collaboration will develop will continue to develop in other forms of collaboration,”. Rector of ITB also expressed her gratitude and hoped for more collaboration between the two parties in the future to support higher education institution and students. She added that ITB is currently striving for reduce tuition fee, as evidenced by the composition of ITB funding in 2024, where the majority of funds are obtained from non-tuition and non-government budget revenues.

In his speech Mohammad Effendi noted that many ITB alumni are working at PT Adaro Energy Indonesia and its subsidiaries. They have contributed significantly in various positions, from senior to management levels. “They are a true testament of the quality of education provided by ITB,” he said. He added, “ITB is one of the leading universities in Indonesia that has made major contributions to the development of science and technology, as well as preparing its graduates to become leaders in various fields.”

The donations received are managed by BPUDL ITB to provide added value to ITB annually, supporting the sustainability and improvement of education quality at ITB.
