The alumni community of ITB class of 1986 (ITB86), also known as 8ageur 6eulis, continues to nurture their love for their alma mater by providing tangible support for the advancement of education at ITB. After previously offering student scholarships and endowment donation, this time ITB86 is committed to participating by investing in the Trimegah Bakti Ganesha Abadi Fixed Income Mutual Fund with an investment of IDR1 billion. This commitment was announced at the opening of the 4th ITB86 Bidak Ganesha National Student Chess Championship initiated by ITB86 at ITB Jatinangor Campus on September 1, 2024.
At the event, Director of BPUDL, Deddy Priatmodjo Koesrindartoto attended as a speaker along with Hasbie Sukaton from Trimegah Sekuritas, as well as representatives of ITB86 Batara Purba and Suluh Tripambudi Rahardjo. During the talk show, Hasbie said that the mutual fund, established in collaboration with BPUDL, has now reached Asset Under Management (AUM) amounting to IDR105 billion. Beside offering potential returns, purchasing this mutual fund also serves as an invitation to contribute to educational through charity.
The Director of BPUDL added that although investing in mutual funds carries risks, what matter most is how to mitigate these risks. Diversification, placement in government instruments, and professionals management are key factors in reducing risk.
This mutual fund investment is one of the alternative ways to support ITB’s funding, as investors not only receive potential returns, but also contribute to increase ITB’s endowment funds through management fees and profit sharing from the fund’s management.
BPUDL expressed its gratitude and appreciation to ITB’86 for their continue support in various programs aimed to increase the endowment fund at ITB. Hopefully, this spirit of contribution will continue to spread and inspire other ITB alumni communities, as contributions to the endowment funds will create lasting benefits and provide continuous support for the progress of ITB.
