ITB hosted a special event, the Night of Appreciation and Achievement, as a tribute to its stakeholders. This event, initiated by the Chair of ITB’s Board of Trustees, Yani Panigoro took place at Soehana Hall in the Medco Energy Building, SCBD Jakarta (5/11/2023). It was collaborative effort involving BPUDL, Faculty of Arts and Design, and Salam Ganesha.
Held informally as a gala dinner, this gathering was graced by the presence of ITB’s Rector, Deans, alumni, and other key stakeholders. During this event, Director of BPUDL ITB, Deddy P. Koesrindartoto reported a significant growth in ITB’s endowment funds, amounting to IDR 323.76 billion. He shared the ambition for ITB to compete the endowment funds of internationally renowned universities, thereby bolstering ITB’s yearly operational costs.
Echoing this sentiment, Hilmi Panigoro, an ITB alumnus and pioneer of the ITB endowment fund, highlighted the crucial role of alumni contribution through the “give back to the almamater” initiative. He drew parallels supporting one’s almamater and honoring the nurturing institution as a mother, emphasizing respect and appreciation. Panigoro also referenced how prestigious global universities, such as Harvard benefit greatly from their alumni support.
This evening also served as an opportunity for ITB to appreciate alumni who have brought fame to the campus through their businesses, including Gibran Huzaifah (CEO eFishery, ITB’07), Febi Agil Ifdillah and Lintang Kusuma Pratiwi (Co-Founder Elevram, ITB’14). In addition, the night marked the commitment of several donors to ITB’s endowment fund, including PT Adaro, Hilmi Panigoro, Achmad Zaky, and the buyers of painting auctioned during the event.
The appreciation and achievement night was the culmination of a series of events from the FSRD ITB alumni painting exhibition from the 1990–2010 batches, themed “Images and Its Legends”, which ran from October 30 to November 5, 2023. The sale of paintings at the exhibition successfully raised donation amounting IDR 112,267,500 for ITB’s endowment fund.
